Wilko's swipe at unfit duo

Record signing Flo - who wasn't even on the bench for the Black Cats game with the Hammers - is deemed to be not match fit by the new Sunderland boss.

"Flo was not up to match pace and that is something we will have to deal with. But of course he still has a future here. He had a mixed pre-season," said Wilkinson after the game.

"As for Piper he's had a taste of international football where he probably ate too much and sat around too much.

"If you want a long international career, you have to do it at club level first of all."
