Reports out of France are that Sunderland are monitoring veteran goalkeeper Cedric Carrasso, who is out of contract this summer. Having made 250 appearances for Bordeaux at 35 year old is about to be released by the French side.
The keeper clams that he turned an offer from Sunderland down last year, he would have been the replacement for injured Vito Mannone. Although the decisions not to move was in Sunderland’s benefit as Pickford had to step up, and quickly became first choice keeper.
Carasso did have a short loan spell in England with Crystal Palace, but has since spent the rest of his career in France.
