The match ended in a 1-1 draw with Steve Howard grabbing the equalising goal for Scotland.

Left-winger Ross Wallace was denied by an impressive save from Ireland 'keeper Colin Doyle. Wallace played the whole game whilst O'Donovan was replaced in the 53rd minute by Mark Yeates.

The game will come as a boost for Wallace who is hoping to gain a place in Alex McLeish's Scotland side - who lost the chance of a place in Euro 2008 on Saturday as they went down 2-1, at home to Italy. Craig Gordon played this match.
