Sunderland defender Titus Bramble is furious about a rumour started last night suggesting that he had been killed in a car crash along with Brighton and Hove Albion defender James Tunnicliffe.
Titus had posted on twitter that he was off on “A road trip to vegas with@tunni89”, tunni89 being James Tunnicliffe’s twitter account reference. This triggered some sick individual to create a rumour that the two professional footballers had been killed, kicking off a storm on sports message boards and Facebook alike.
The Sunderland defender got wind of the gossip by twitting “What nasty b*****d starts a vicious rumour like that? Me and @tunni89 are both fine and well and not been killed in a car crash”
The news came as a relief to Sunderland and any decent sports fans alike, but further to his twitter post last night Bramble added this morning “Still can’t get my head round why some f****r would start a rumour about me and @tunni89 being killed in a car crash. Thanks for all the great tweets. It means alot.”
On a happier note the Sunderland defender is said to have been offered a contract extension as a reward for a solid first season on Wearside.
