Steve Bruce has stated that the Sunderland three long term injury stricken players will not be rush back into action.
Striker Fraizer Campbell, defender Michael Turner and midfielder Lee Cattermole have all been visiting the physio’s room because of long term serious injuries.
Turner damaged his knee after heroically saving the ball off the line only to colliding with the goal post. Cattermole has once again been out for months because of ongoing back problems which he has suffered with for some time. Campbell also damaged his knee at the beginning of the season when Sunderland took on Manchester United.
All the players have been huge losses to the club, as Sunderland push on for a European spot next season, although the defence and midfield have had cover, thin may it be, the return of Frazer Campbell would be a huge advantage with the Black Cats having one fit striker.
Bruce commented "It is a little bit too soon at the moment, we're delighted to see Fraizer, Michael and Lee in and around the training ground.”
"If you look at pre-season, we have six weeks off and then six weeks of intensive training plus six or seven friendly games.
"That tells you when someone has been out for six weeks, two months - it's difficult to come back straight away.
"We can't rush them back, which would be easy to do. They've been out for a long time."
