Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill is leading the pack to sign free-agent Louis Saha according to the Mirror.
Sunderland hopes to tie up a deal for the much-travelled striker who is a free-agent this summer after being released by Everton. O'Neill is keen to bring in players who are proven in the Premier league and wants to stick to a tight budget doing so.
As Sunderland struggled to score goals last season he is desperate to sign Saha who is proven at this level. There is competition for Saha though from a host of clubs, including a wealthy team in the middle east but O'Neill is confident he will get his man. If the deal is right Saha would play on in the Premier league.
