Sunderland AFC has arranged a pre-season fixture on Martin O’Neill's old stamping ground, Leicester City.
Nigel Pearson commented, "To face a team of Sunderland's quality a week before the start of the league season is just the sort of test we are looking for, while the return of Martin O'Neill and his backroom staff, although not for the first time, adds a special dimension to the fixture.
"Sunderland have a squad full of Premier League quality and, as their season starts at the same time as ours, they will be at a very similar stage of their preparations. I'm sure both teams will be keen to perform at a high level and it should be an exciting game."
