Sunderland ladies have had their top end of table clash with Man City moved to a later kick off, 6pm on Sunday 6th Sept, on BT sports.
It’s a massive game, Man City are right on the tail of the Black Cats, being just two points behind them with a game in hand.
A win for Sunderland could put them with in goal difference of leaders Chelsea, dependent on the result of the earlier game, as Chelsea take on Notts County.
Sunderland ladies failed to qualify for the Continental Cup with a defeat to Doncaster, a late header by substitute Sarah McFadden ended the game 3-2.
Sunderland can now turn their attentions to the league position, with the top 3 being very tight; Sunday’s fixture could help either team potentially define the season.
Whatever the result, Sunderland ladies can pride themselves on their fantastic season so far.
The Times Journalist George Caulkin heaped praise on the Sunderland ladies by tweeted on Saturday:
1st time watching @SAFCLadies but won't be last. They lost (in Cup) today, but they're a beacon for #Safc & region.
