John O'Shea: “You're fully aware coming to the Emirates that it can be a tough day, but we helped Arsenal out a little bit with the way we underperformed in the first half.
“It was very disappointing because of how we'd been performing away from home, going unbeaten for a few months.
“It's frustrating but also a good wake-up call to realise the standards we've set for ourselves.
“First and foremost you look at yourself and how you can do better, then the team as a unit.
“The second half was a little bit better – we started well but then conceded from a corner which knocked the stuffing out of us.
“We responded again; Emanuele scored a good goal and we could have had a couple of others with some good counter-attacks.
“It's a wake-up call for us, both in the league and ahead of next weekend.
"We have to make sure we look at ourselves individually and collectively, dust ourselves down and go again."
