All these questions have been answered, but one question can not escape my mind at the moment and I think it's one I share with many other Sunderland supporters.
Can Keane deliver in the transfer market?
Since our promotion, this seems to be the major topic of conversation, well lets be honest, other than the subject of us staying up or not there's not much else to talk about at the moment.
The number of players we've been linked with is gradually starting to spiral out of control. Some of them realistic, some of them so unrealistic I've tried not to laugh at them.
Nugent, Barton, Graverson, Andy Cole and Van Nistelrooy are just the most recent ones and I'm sure there's a few more whoppers to come yet.
In reality though, we have no idea who Keane's targets are and the only one we can confirm for certain that he's interested in is David Nugent. The problem with that one is that so is just about every other football team in The Premiership.
Just as we couldn't imagine the turn around Keane would do, we can't imagine how successful we will be in the transfer market.
What has added fuel to fire, is the fact that Sunderland supporters and the press know that Sunderland have the financial muscle now to compete in the transfer market and Roy has already said that we WILL deliver in the transfer market.
Keane has also said that he may have to wait a little longer to land the targets he's after because the French and Spanish leagues run longer than ours. If that's the case then I think these rumours are wide of the mark as the vast majority of them have all been British based players and obvious targets fabricated by supporters and media.
For me, other than Nugent, all the targets have been too obvious.
Graverson - An ex team mate.
Forlan - An ex team mate.
Van Nistelrooy - An ex team mate.
Barton - Similar type of player to Keane.
Andy Cole - An ex team mate.
Nugent - The only real known target.
Can you see the pattern emerging yet?
Were it's hard to Keep our feet on the ground on this subject and as supporters of our club we always speculate about what could be, this question will not be answered until the results of Keane and Quinn's pulling power is there for us all to see.
I personally think we'll be attracting much bigger targets than our promoted rivals, but just how big those players will be, who knows? Just don't expect Christiano Ronaldo and Robinho strutting there stuff at the SoL next season.
