Newly appointed Oldham Athletic manager Darren Kelly has been talking about the future of his new club and possible targets under his rule. He has made no secret that Sunderland under 21’s winger Duncan Watmore would be a top signing for him.
Kelly was part of Sunderland’s academy coaching staff before he took on the role at Oldham, where Watmore has clearly caught his eye.
Kelly said “I think he’s absolutely fantastic. He should be playing first-team football at Sunderland, I believe. If I thought for a second we could get him then he would be a great acquisition. I’d say watch this space, though.”
