Centre back Nyron Nosworthy has signed a two year extension to his current contract for Sunderland, Nyron's future was uncertain as a Sunderland player after Steve Bruce's signing of Paulo Da Silva, Michael Turner and further more the season long loan of John Mensah.
With these new comers the 29 year has found himself knocked down the pecking order, losing his first team place to Michael Turner, but Nyron was offered the deal last week ending any of his uncertainty over his future with the club.
The centre back commented, "I'm delighted to sign for another two years. "A lot's been going on at the club but I've been here for a while so people were concerned what was going on. These things take time and I'm pleased it's done and dusted.
"I've seen the ups and downs and these are definitely ups. This is the best start we've had since I've been here, the team's strong with plenty of depth and we've been doing very well at home.
"It's looking good all round. It was an easy decision to stay. Of course I had to make sure everything was right for myself and for the club."
"The gaffer's been brilliant, he's made it easy for me and for everyone.
"It's not nice to not be playing but it's part and parcel of football and I have to ride it out and wait for my turn to come."
