Moyes Holding Sunderland Back?

Retired footballer, now BBC pundit Garth Crooks has put the boot into Sunderland boss David Moyes, after Sunderland’s 1-0 much needed win over Watford.

Crooks who had a high profile career with a host of top flight teams in his playing days, spoken about the match up as he congratulated the Sunderland players.

Crook believes that the negative attitude of boss David Moyes is holding back the players, after he selected Sunderland star keeper Jordan Pickford and defender Van Aanholt for his team of the week.

Crook’s said "I do wish the Sunderland manager wasn't so publicly negative about his team's capabilities. His team might be in the bottom three but it doesn't mean that they are not capable of special moments.

"What Van Aanholt produced was one of those special moments and I am sure there is more where that came from, if only the manager exuded a little more belief."

The win over Watford lifted Sunderland off the bottom of the table and with on 1 point of safety, but a tough having to face Man United next.
