Scottish striker Kevin Kyle was set to make a come back from his long, aggravating hip injury, which has kept him out since August, in the Sunderland Reserve side vs Notts Forest tonight.

Unfortunatly for Kyle, Sunderland medical staff have revealed the match is too much, too soon for the big target man. Kyle, 23, said "He said: "We just decided that tonight's reserve game came a bit too soon but I still hope to play some part this season." Mick McCarthy has rated Kyle's chances od playing a part in the promotion push this season as an 'outside chance'.

Matthew Piper & Mart Poom are expected to feature. Sunderland will be without Stuart Holden, who is out with a fractured eye socket.
