Kenwyne Jones has put an end to rumours that he was about to leave the club by signing a new four and a half year deal for Sunderland.

Rumours of Aston Villa, Chelsea watching his progress and the constant media hounding with Harry RedKnapp's Spurs, linking the striker to a move away from the Stadium of Light.

But now the Sunderland faithful can breathe a sigh of relief, as the star striker is going nowhere.

Kenwyne had this to say, "I've been here for a year and a half now and I'm liking the place so there's nothing stopping me from committing my future here and thankfully today that happened."
