The Black Cats boss has confirmed that the striker had picked up an unknown injury during training on Friday and that he did not want to risk playing the Trinidad & Tobago international forward in the Pompey game.

"He literally slipped in the last three minutes of training," Keane told the club's official website.

"We decided we were not going to take any risks.

"How serious (the injury is) we will know in the next 24 hours."
