Graham On The Goal Trail ... At Hull!

Graham made his first appearance in City colours on Saturday night as a substitute for the final 30 minutes of a 0-0 draw with Sheffield Wednesday in Albufeira, little more than 24 hours after completing a season-long loan move from Sunderland.

dDanny Graham: "I want to play games and Hull City have given me that chance to do it in the Premier League.

"I need to repay the faith the manager has shown in me where others might not have. Hull have taken a chance on me and I want to repay them with some goals and good performances.

"I felt I needed to get out of Sunderland. I spoke with the gaffer and he said I was going to be third or fourth choice striker. I'm 28 in August and I don't want to be sitting around just picking up money.

"It's like a second lifeline for me. I had a good season with Swansea in the first year but then found myself out of the team for whatever reason. I moved on but that didn't work out. These things happen in football so this is a fresh start. I'm delighted to be here.

"I did want to play but I knew I'd only been here for 24 hours.

"I wasn't too sure how the boys play but I asked the manager if I could get some minutes under my belt. It gave me a little chance to watch things for the first 60 minutes and then I enjoyed that last half hour.

"It's been a manic week. It's been well documented all the travelling back from Sunderland's training camp in Italy, heading down to Hull to sign the papers and then a flight over here.

"Then it was training and straight into a game but that's the way I wanted it. Playing in games is better than any training you can do. I don't want to miss out on any of that."
