Sunderland’s long term injured striker Fraizer Campbell has spoken about his desire to play a part of this weekend’s cup match against Peterborough. He has been making fantastic progress on his road to fitness after being out of action for over a season with knee ligament damage.
Campbell’s return will add very much needed fire power to a lacking striker role Sunderland are currently suffering. But the question is if Campbell is the same player he was before suffering the knee damage. Noted for his lightning quick pace he was one of the fastest runners in the league, just before being injured he had seemed to have found his scoring boots also. But that could partly be down to Steve Bruce playing the striker out on the right wing then shifting him to his preferred striker position.
