"We needed to change things, change the shape at half time to stop them having so much of the ball. Considering the terrific inexperience in the side and the fact that it's the first time they've played together, they've done very well.
"It will obviously give a morale boost to those who played and you have to hope that it will have a carry over to the ones who didn't. We play Spurs next in the league on Sunday and by selecting the team we did tonight I thought it was the best chance of getting two wins in a week."
