Marco Gabbiadini: ”Adam is in a great run of form and it’s coincided with Sunderland being on the front foot,” he told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show. “They’ve been taking games to people, like at Fulham [where the winger scored a hat-trick].
“Sunderland are not going to get that much possession against Manchester City though. They may not get the chance to do that [take the game to Man City] on Sunday. Will it be a case of them trying to do a containing job for 45 minutes and, after frustrating them, trying to break them down?
“It was clear at Arsenal last week that, when you don’t have a lot of possession, Adam Johnson isn’t the best player to have in your team.
“I’m not being disrespectful to him and I’m sure he’d admit that himself. He’s not one for chasing around and tackling, that’s not his forte.
“We want to see him on the ball. Maybe Poyet will use him as a cameo role in the second half.”
