Ex Sunderland Manager Paolo Di Canio has been chatting about his time on Wearside including some of the stand out implementations he made in his time.
Di Canio saw the best and the worst times at Sunderland, he went from hero to zero fairly quickly, as from that famous knee slide as Sunderland scored the winning goal against Newcastle, to a string of defeats which eventually cost him his job.
Di Canio looked at the fine details in running the club which meant putting a ban on players using things like ketchup and mayonnaise.
Comparing his outlook with a Ferrari saying that you wouldn’t put anything other than Petrol in the car, so as footballers they should be fuelling themselves with the right foods.
He believes the traditional English diet isn’t great for a professional athlete, and having the correct diet will help his players train better, and save them from injury.
