D-Day for Sunderland?

Niall Quinn and his consortium are expected to come forward with a multi-million pound bid for the north-eastern club. Of course this is all good news for Sunderland fans however, even if the bid is accepted, it could possibly take 3 weeks for Niall Quinn to get the chairman's position!

The fans show their feelings at the Stadium Of Light.
The end of Bob Murray's 22 year tenure on the club would almost certainly be greeted with a smile by the Mackems. In recent times, he has been accused of being greedy and when he did provide funds, fans of the club thought it was too late. In August 2002, ex-manager Peter Reid bought Tore Andre Flo & Marcus Stewart for a combined fee of £10m, funded by Murray. Flop Flo only stayed on Wearside for one season and abandoned the club when they were relegated to the English First Division.

Fans of the club deemed this to be a critical mistake, it was described as a panic-buy. Stewart performed well in the newly-named Coca-Cola Championship but later left the club when they were promoted.

In my opinion, My Murray has taken the club to great heights in his time as chairman but has made some dreadful decisions. In order to establish ourselves in the Premiership we (Sunderland) are going to need a fresh start with plenty of funds to back the team up when needed. The current squad of players are more than capable of getting promoted from to the Premiership therefore not much money needs to be spent to ensure a successful future for the Black Cats. I would like to thank Mr Murray for his time, effort and also the blinding Stadium of Light (excuse the pun). If the bid is accepted then expect the streets of Sunderland to be filled with partying Mackems!
