Wear-ing his new colours!
Keith Curle has taken a swipe at Sunderland over how Liam Lawrence was signed from Mansfield Town.
He had this to say.
"Sunderland I understand phoned the chairman whilst he was on holiday making an offer which was verbally declined and the chairman was unable to decline in writing, but they approached Liam and his representatives any way without them first obtaining the courteous permission of this football club. Making him a good offer which he accepted. I am pretty confident that when this case goes to arbitration Mansfield will be suitably reimbursed".

May I remind Mr Curle that Sunderland made a verbal offer, which you didn't accept. Sunderland then spoke to Liam's agent directly, which the player and Sunderland are entitled to do, due to the players contract status. Your just bitter you've lost your best player. Your welcome to your compensation money, but your making out like we tapped the player up or something...don't think so!
