Sunderland midfielder Crisitian Riversos looks set to leave Wearside.
The 28 year old Paraguayan international has had an official enquiry about his availability from Brazilian club Corinthians, and its highly like that a bid will follow the enquiry.
This will come to as no surprise to Sunderland fans as the South American has struggled to fit in to English football, but comes as a real shame as he came to Sunderland with high hopes as playing such an important and vital role in Paraguay’s world cup bid. He was also very highly rated in the Mexican league Primera Division with club Cruz Azul.
He signed for Sunderland in May 2010 on a 3 year contract and made his League debut in August against Birmingham City coming off the bench.
Then Sunderland and Paraguayan International team mate Paulo Da Silva played a major role in convincing the midfielder to make the move across to England.
Da Silva who also struggled to make the cut in English football was sold to Spanish club Real Zaragaza in January. This was also a great shame as he came to Sunderland with lots of promise as captain of Paraguay International team, and as Riveros he played a major part in the Paraguay World Cup side.
The deal could go through out of the European transfer window, as Brazil’s transfer window is still open.
