Connolly Undergoes Surgery

The Republic of Ireland striker has not featured in the Sunderland first team for ten months having previously undergone an operation on his hip.

"David's had another operation and hopefully it will lead to the end of his problems," Black Cats boss Roy Keane told the club's official website.

"He's been out for some time but we're hopeful he'll be able to resume his career now."
