English media sources are now reporting that the original report from French Sports newspaper L'Equipe are completely untrue.
The media source have published a story that there journalists have been in touch with agent Ranko Stojic who has denied the reports, saying "Tottenham? I stopped being Cisse's agent when he decided to move to Sunderland. I was not sure of that transfer at all.
"The last time I spoke with a journalist I told him that my work with the player is over."
Spurs Manager Harry Redknapp, who has been known in the past to sign his players with the help of the media's unsettling tactics, also spoke to quash the french papers clams.
Redknapp said, "We haven't made any inquiries for anybody at the moment."
"The squad has done very well, but I still feel we need to strengthen in one or two areas as a group if we are to look to push on and try to make sure we are a top-six team.
"If we can't get the players we want then it's not a desperate situation because we have lots of good players at the club."
