Sunderland AFC are hoping to extend Lee Cattermole’s future on Wearside with a new contract, as he enters the final year of his current one. Cattermole played a huge part in keeping Sunderland’s premier league status, with some outstanding and gritty performances on the pitch.
Cattermole’s future was in doubt at the start of last season with Stoke City sniffing around, but Sunderland officials are confident they can reach an agreement with the 27 year old.
Steven Fletcher, Adam Johnson and Danny Graham all have entered the last 12 months of their deals also, although Johnson’s will be on hold awaiting the outcome of his court case.
