Wolves have confirmed today that Sunderland have turned down there request for Carlos Edwards to rejoin the midlands club on loan.
Edwards, was a first team regular for Sunderland in a successful 2006/07 Championship campaign, only to suffer a hamstring injury in his second game of his first premiership season after promotion. Further misery followed for the Trinidad and Tobago international in the form of a leg fractured leg, Edwards returned towards the end of the season but struggled to find his form. With a view to help regain his original form he was loaned out to Wolves at the start of the 2008/9 season, on a three months deal. The deal was cut short two months in and Edwards returned to the Stadium of Light, where he has began to push his way back into first team action.
