Sessegnon, 29, lives near Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer in the Ponteland area of the city.
Days later, crooks broke into 27-year-old Scottish international Bardsley’s property in East Rainton, Wearside.
The raids on the Black Cats’ homes are not thought to be linked.
A Northumbria Police spokesman said: "We received a report of a burglary in Ponteland. Items including a television and some jewellery were stolen, along with a Range Rover and a BMW.
"A 25-year-old man has been arrested and is in custody helping with enquires. The Range Rover was later recovered.
"We also received a report of a burglary in East Rainton. Two vehicles were stolen and enquiries are ongoing."
"Away day" burglars have targeted the homes of Manchester United and Liverpool players in the past.
Properties belonging to Anfield stars including Steven Gerrard, Pepe Reina, Robbie Keane and Peter Crouch have been targets.
And United midfielder Darren Fletcher’s Cheshire mansion was raided.
