Leeds United could be taking midfielder Liam Bridcutt until the end of the season. Although Bridcutt seemed to have a choice of championship clubs, having finally looked to have found his level in the Championship.
Having went to Leeds as signing an emergency loan deal back in November, he hit the ground running in Yorkshire, after a dismal time in the Premiership.
A handful of Championship clubs where close to signing the midfielder in the summer but nothing materialized. Now those same clubs are all thought to have expressed an interest in the midfielder, again in this transfer window.
Sunderland wanted to get the player off the books, but with Leeds regaining the players services on loan, they will be paying a percentage of his wage. There is nothing also to say there could be a signing on clause for the summer transfer window as part of the loan deal.
In an interview Bridcutt, he said “I’m hoping to extend it to the end of the season and I want to extend it. Leeds wants me here and it’s just waiting on Sunderland.”
