Mick McCarthy has given young Irish forward Stephen Ward a weeks trial. The promising striker bagged 7 goals for Irish side Bohemians last term and Sunderland have been made aware of the players abilty.
The 18 yr old has been a regular in the Republic of Ireland under 19 squad this season and if Sunderland decide they want the lad, there is little Bohemian could do to prevent him from leaving.
