Incase you live in some sort of alter universe, news tonight is that Sam Allardyce has left his job as England manager after one match in charge.
He has left with mutual consent from the FA, following a newspaper trap where he is claimed to be offering help on getting around rules on transfers. Adding to the allegations is that he made a deal worth £400,000 to represent a far eastern company.
The FA’s statement on the matter reads,
"He accepts he made a significant error of judgement and has apologised,"
"This is not a decision that was taken lightly but the FA's priority is to protect the wider interests of the game and maintain the highest standards of conduct in football.
"The manager of the England men's senior team is a position which must demonstrate strong leadership and show respect for the integrity of the game at all times."
Garth Southgate will take temporary charge of the national side, until a permeant replacement for Allardyce is found.
The newspaper The Daily Telegraph has claimed responsibility for the operation, in which one of their reporters posed themselves as a businessman looking to invest.
A video showing the now ex-England boss speaking to the reporter, where he claimed to know how to get around the rules of the FA with regards to transfers, he follows up by saying he knew agents that did it all the time.
Allardyce also spoke about Roy Hodgson, as Woy referring to him being borning sending people to sleep when he talks.
I bet Sam now wishes he had stayed on Wearside, but Sam Allardyce is 'Arry Rednapps best mate!
